Wednesday

eat thai, love thai

After being MIA for almost half a month, I apologize but I still don't have the juiciest update.
Been busy when April came and fortunately, I was able to sneak a little bonding (movie) time with my sisters.

Intrigued by the movie The Croods, we drove to the movie house.
We wanted to watch an earlier movie schedule but the traffic wont let us so we waited for the last full show.
With nothing to do, my sister M and I, wanting to try this restaurant, trick the rest of the group in eating here we found this little Thai restaurant called Soi.
We've been to Thailand a few years back but still have no knowledge of the best dishes to eat so we opted to order a group dish which the hostess offered.
We had a good for 5, yes 5, meal.
Starting with soup.

This is Tom Kha Kai.
Rich Thai flavour.
Chicken, coconut milk, chili and cilantro.
Spicy and sweet.

Pork selection was..
Stir Fried Pork with Shrimp Paste.
This one was really great!
Simple but very tasty.

For the fish, we had Crispy Fish Fillet with Mango Salad
Personally, I think the fish was a little dry but other than that, it was a very good combination.
The Mango salad had onions, Cilatro, plus a few other ingredients.
Just remember to eat the fish and the salad at the same time. the salad gives the fish the nice flavour.

Then mixed vegetables to complete the whole meal.
Not my favourite but it was okay. (i picked the baby corn)

To quench the thirst,
We had Pandan Iced Tea.
Basically it tastes like wheat grass.
Luckily, I enjoy wheat grass so it was perfect!

Its fun to once in a while eat different cuisines, especially Asian food because its rich with flavour and aroma!

For an affordable taste of Thailand, Soi is located at Robinsons Place Manila, ground level, Padre Faura Wing Pedro Gil cor. Adiriatico St. Ermita Manila.
No need for reservations, just pass by and you'll be greeted by a smiling young lady or gent ready to give you a seat!
